Here is a photo of the board members posing in front of a backdrop at the UCR School of Medicine. During the event, many physicians shared their journeys in medicine and gave advice for success. Students networked, tacos were given out for lunch, and dancers performed as well. 

Board and general members pose with Dr. Celebrate after she gave an inspirational presentation about her life in undergraduate and medical schools. In her presentation, she explained how to balance academics and jobs, as well as gave study tips to help students succeed.  

While members drank hot chocolate and ate conchas, the Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Dr. Denise Martinez, gave pieces of advice she wishes she knew as a pre-medical student to motivate students in achieving success.

Mentees and mentors were able to meet each other and get to know one another through various ice breakers.

Programming Chair Alexia Garcia gave a motivational presentation on how students can get involved in research.

She shared her own experiences in her research lab and gave different tips on how to contact professors and look for open positions in labs.

Members gathered around to eat delicious sandwiches and cookies while watching "Coco" to celebrate the upcoming Halloween holiday. They also got to embrace their creativity by painting mini pumpkins.

Members also participated in the "Letters of Love" campaign where creative and artistic cards were illustrated and sent to migrant children detained by the federal government.

All these amazing LMSA+ members got the opportunity to volunteer at a community Trunk Or Treat event and got to show off their Halloween costumes! 

During weeks of exams, our members get together to study with their peers at our study night events and destress with some delicious food and games!

Started off winter quarter with some smores and big smiles from our LMSA+ members by the Glen Mor fire pits!

Our very own Mentorship Chair, Sophia Galleguillos, led an amazing and insightful presentation on the process of getting into medical school with a special guest, Alexander Flores, who is currently attending the California University of Science and Medicine!

During our second general meeting of the quarter, members got together to learn more about future events and create cards for pediatric patients at Loma Linda!

Our members got the amazing opportunity to volunteer at Overflow Farms and provide wholesome and healthy foods for the community. 

This wonderful tour given by the CHEECH Museum opened our members' eyes to beautiful Chicano Art and Culture!

Our members had previously taken the time to create cards filled with love and support for pediatric students at Loma Linda, in which we were able to hand to them ourselves! 

The “How to Manage Your Stress” presentation led by our amazing Program Coordinator, Jose Ramirez and a very special guest from The Well provided information and helpful tips on different ways you can improve your stress before finals week! 

Some of our members got the amazing opportunity to attend the UCR SOM Open House tour where they were shown different presentations, activities, and given the opportunity to ask questions to a student panel! Here we have one of our members completing one of the amazing simulations that the medical students use for practice. 

This is an image taken during the first general meeting of the quarter where we introduced important LMSA+ related information for our members. We also welcomed our very special guest, Dr. Waterman, the Chair of Anesthesiology at UC San Diego, who gave a presentation on her journey and different career paths within the healthcare field. 

During our Stop the Bleed Workshop, our members got the chance to learn how to recognize and stop life-threatening bleeding which was taught by Highlander EMS!
